New Internet Explorer window -- new session?

Has anyone noticed when you open a new instance of Internet Explorer (not by using CTRL-N, but clicking on the shortcut), that a completely new session is created? Now, I'm pretty sure this didn't happen with older versions of IE... SP2 change? A change for the better?

Yep, always been that way, and thank god for testing purposes. I still have to crack open separate instances and get out of my tabbed browser quite often to escape the shared sessions...

Are you sure you're not just seeing J2EE sessions now, where you had standard CF sessions before?

With standard CF sessions, you can open multiple, unique instances of the browser and maintain sessions. This is not the case with J2EE sessions, which intentionally "bind" to a browser instance.

Roland, I'm pretty sure. I've tried it with a few sites now, and got the same thing. I'm positive this functionality didn't exist before.
